잔을 살짝 기울여 돌리면 화이트 와인에 가까운 옅은 빛이 천천히 미끄러진다. 코를 묻으면 밀랍과 망고 리큐어, 살구와 순한 담뱃잎이 부드럽게 이어진다. 한 모금을 머금으면 인상이 바뀌어 소금기와 흰 후추, 정향과 레몬이 또렷하게 밀려온다. 33년을 보낸 1990년 스프링뱅크는 44.5도의 낮은 도수에도 삼킨 뒤 해안의 짭조름함과 매운 기운을 오래 붙잡아 둔다.
