잔을 흔들면 1981년 빈티지 카루이자와의 거의 검은 마호가니가 잔 벽을 따라 묵직하게 흐른다. 코끝에 가져가면 35년의 셰리 캐스크가 길어낸 향나무, 묵은 가죽, 검정 자두 잼의 향이 함께 솟아오른다. 한 모금을 머금으면 57.2도의 알코올이 다크초콜릿과 무화과 잼을 입천장에 두껍게 펼친다. 삼키면 옅은 정향과 약쑥 같은 허브가 길게 따라오며 사라진 일본 증류소의 전설적인 결이 또렷이 깃든다.
