진한 금빛 술을 잔에서 천천히 돌리면 오래 닦아온 나무 가구 같은 냄새가 먼저 피어오른다. 코를 가까이 하면 말린 무화과와 대추야자, 헤이즐넛 리큐어와 금속 광택제가 이어지고 장뇌 기운이 스친다. 한 모금 머금으면 60.9도의 술이 놀랍도록 정연하게 퍼지며 꿀과 향신료, 광물감이 차례로 자리를 바꾼다. 물을 몇 방울 떨어뜨려 다시 삼키면 1965년 스프링뱅크의 여운이 좀처럼 끝나지 않는다.
