테이스팅 노트
잔을 돌리고 코를 넣으면 으깬 풀과 수영장 물 냄새, 점토와 분필이 차례로 올라와 요즘 스프링뱅크와는 다른 옛 인상을 준다. 잔을 더 흔들면 기름 묻은 공구 걸레 같은 냄새가 따라붙는다. 한 모금을 머금으면 55도의 술이 양털과 오래된 동전, 금속 광택제 같은 맛으로 이어지며 화사함 대신 무뚝뚝함을 택한다. 삼킨 뒤에는 후추와 짠기, 분필의 마른 감촉이 남는다.

funny how these batches start to come across as pretty 'old fashioned' these days; it's certainly from the 'less likely' era of production at Springbank with all these impressions of crushed greenery, swimming pool water, clay, chalk and oily toolbox rags. What's good though is that it still feels rather 'Springbank' and not totally swamped by overt rum. With water: peppery and still very much on clay and mineral oils, but I can't help but find it overall a tad flat

a bit funny really, on sheep wools, clays, ointments, old metal coins, metal polish and slightly sooty and cardboardy qualities. It's ok, but I'm not too sure… with water: a feeling of plainness now almost, with these notes of wet grains, vegetable soup, some aniseed, some more clay, perhaps a glimmer of medicine
