잔을 천천히 돌리면 셰리 캐스크가 입힌 짙은 호박빛이 잔 벽을 타고 내린다. 코를 가져가면 스카이 섬의 탈리스커다운 짭조름한 바닷내와 후추 같은 매운 연기, 말린 과일이 함께 올라온다. 58.9도의 술을 한 모금 머금으면 특유의 강한 후추향과 그을음, 건포도의 단맛이 혀를 강하게 두드린다. 여섯 해의 젊은 숙성이 무색한 짭짤한 끝맛이 삼킨 뒤 오래 남는다.
