짙은 황금빛이 잔 안에 단단히 깃들어 있다. 1979년에 증류돼 22년을 묵은 뒤 더글라스 레잉의 올드 몰트 캐스크로 병입된 탈리스커는 옛 스카이 섬 위스키의 거친 단단함을 그대로 담았다. 잔을 가까이 하면 짠 바다 향, 검은 후추, 옅은 그을음이 먼저 오른다. 한 모금 머금으면 미네랄, 마른 가죽, 잘 익은 향신료가 50퍼센트 도수에 실려 입천장을 빠르게 덮는다. 1970년대 탈리스커 특유의 강건한 여운이 길게 머문다.
