잔을 코끝에 가져가면 1977년 증류된 탈리스커의 후추 같은 매운 연기와 짭조름한 바다 향이 솟구친다. 잔을 흔들면 그 아래로 잘 익은 과일과 밀랍의 단내가 번진다. 한 모금 머금으면 25년 숙성이 다듬은 부드러운 훈연과 후추의 열기가 동시에 퍼진다. 삼키면 바닷바람을 머금은 재와 미네랄이 50도의 힘으로 혀 끝에서 길게 타오른다.
