향미 프로필
테이스팅 노트
붉은 기운이 도는 호박빛이 잔 속에 어린다. 스카이 섬의 탈리스커가 재생한 레드 와인 캐스크에서 9년을 보낸 이 보틀링은 짭조름한 바다 향과 잘 익은 베리, 후추의 매콤함을 코끝에 풀어놓는다. 입에 머금으면 블랙커런트와 흑설탕의 단맛 위로 탈리스커 특유의 후추 같은 자극이 묵직하게 입을 채운다. 54.4도의 기운이 풍미를 또렷하게 끌어올리며, 여운에는 그을린 오크와 다크 체리, 바다 소금기가 길게 이어진다. 섬 위스키의 강렬함이 깊게 머문다.

woohoo! The black label at 70°proof is already quite something, but it can be a little fragile. Not the case at all here, this is just massively plasticky, soapy in a good way (that is possible, mind you), and it would start to gather all oils and saps known to Man. With water: congrats, we managed to tame it. Ripe figs and longans, artemisia, nashi…

huge, minty, sharp yet rich and thick, almost excessive. Big mint, artisan toothpaste (excuse me?), brine, smoked oysters, Seville oranges, menthol cigarettes, menthol snuff… It’s quite a wrestler, Hulk Hogan in a bottle. With water: as often with these great bottlings by G&M, you have to be careful with water and not add to much. Maybe is that related to the way they are/were filtering their whiskies? So with only a few drops, you’re getting a rounder, smooth and almost rather softly honeyed Talisker. Buy a good pipette, that’s a better investment than fake collectables
