카리브해 럼 캐스크 피니시가 이 탈리스커에 달큰한 열대의 단맛을 덧입혔다. 스카이 섬의 탈리스커가 팔 년을 채운 원액에 럼 나무의 풍미를 마지막으로 더했다. 향에서는 그을린 연기와 흑설탕, 옅은 바닷소금이 함께 올라온다. 입에서는 57.9도의 도수가 후추 같은 매콤함과 캐러멜, 훈제 향을 묵직하게 밀어 올린다. 럼 캐스크가 더한 달큰함이 탈리스커 특유의 매운 피트를 감싼다. 여운은 후추와 연기, 단맛이 뜨겁게 길게 이어진다.

much rounder, smoother, with more ‘sweet’ sherry, raisins, figs… Then rather more citrus and lemony herbs. Lemongrass, lemon ginger, perhaps a little dill… All that is fine, but then we’re having beef stock and parsley, soy sauce (a drop), old copper coins, and then these oysters again, with a drop of vinegar. Tends to get earthier (moist garden peat). With water: leather, tobacco, brine, and whelks ;-)

oh my this is strong, it makes me cough. The good news is that it’s also one of the best cough syrups. Bitter herbs (remember Unicum?) and eucalyptus, plus some menthol oil, all that coated with crushed sultanas and honeydew. Or something like that. With water: a thicker texture, and just a perfect old sherried peater, full of tobacco, walnuts, liquorice, marmalade, and black raisins. What it hasn’t quite got from the more modern ones is the saltiness
