테이스팅 노트
이 프라이빗 캐스크는 스프링뱅크 중에서도 유별난 축에 든다. 노즈에서는 순무와 핸드크림, 굴과 조린 루바브가 먼저 드러나고 구아바 주스와 밀맥주, 장미 꽃잎이 이어져 초점이 잡히기까지 시간이 걸린다. 공기를 충분히 주면 부서진 분필과 바닷물, 레몬즙으로 정돈된다. 팰럿은 분필 같은 레몬과 시트론 리큐어에 해초즙과 타임이 겹쳐지고 51도의 도수가 흑연 오일의 결을 밀어 올린다. 피니시는 중간 길이로 파라핀과 아몬드가 남는다.

indeed, it’s one of the ‘funnier’ one, with notes of turnips, hand cream, oysters, stewed rhubarb, guava juice, Weissbier, rose petals, even litchis… We’re far from the sooty and mineral ones that they started to distil a few years later, even if it’s easily noticeable that it tends to get better focussed after a few minutes. ah wait wait wait, this is different indeed. Chalky lemons, citron liqueur blended with seaweed juice, thyme and rosemary, these wee ‘plasticky’ notes that weren’t uncommon in Springbank back then, graphite oil… With water: we got it! Chalky textile and lemony brine, tinned sardines…
