1983년 문을 닫은 전설의 아일라 증류소 포트 엘렌은 이제 한 병 한 병이 시대의 유물이다. 오크 캐스크에서 22년을 보낸 1976년 빈티지는 옅은 황금빛을 띠고, 마른 풀과 레몬, 옅은 그을음과 미네랄 향이 고요하게 감돈다. 입에 머금으면 55.9도의 힘 위로 왁스 같은 질감과 후추, 바다 소금, 부드러운 훈연이 깊게 머문다. 사라진 증류소 특유의 우아한 피트가 또렷이 깃들어, 여운은 재와 시트러스로 길고 섬세하게 남는다.

sweet, full-bodied, balanced and compact. Starts on Grand-Marnier liqueur, orange marmalade, liquorice, candy sugar… Goes on with herbal tea and earl grey, plum jam, light caramel. Hints of ripe bananas. Uncomplicated again but quite oomphy and flawless, with a medium long but sweet, creamy and satisfying finish. A tad MOTR but highly sippable. 83 points .
