모니리어스 산맥 북쪽의 고지대 평원, 차가운 공기와 짧은 여름이 이 위스키의 부드러운 골격을 빚어냈다. 토마틴 1976년산 34년은 짙은 호박빛으로 잔에 잠겨 있다. 향에는 마른 살구와 갓 구운 패스트리, 옅은 가죽이 또렷이 깃들어 있다. 입에서는 꿀이 든 차와 시나몬, 부드러운 오크 스파이스가 차례로 드러나고 51.1도의 도수는 풀바디로 흐른다. 마른 견과류와 시트러스 껍질의 여운이 길게 이어진다.

wonderful! A soft, fruity sherry combined with Tomatin’s soft, fruity… err, fruitiness. It’s quite extravagant to tell you the truth, with an avalanche of honey, nectar, quinces, ripe plums, old Sauternes… Also touches of aromatic herbs, dill, sage, celery… and a whole beehive. Let’s cut a long story short: it’s fab. Not whisky, a sin. With water: H2O only confirms what we already know
