Tasting Notes
짙은 황금빛이 잔에 고인 토마틴 1997은 리필 셰리 호그스헤드에서 12년을 보낸 하이랜드의 개성을 드러낸다. 향은 처음엔 고무와 풀 내음의 다소 무뚝뚝한 기운으로 열리지만 물을 더하면 오렌지와 망고의 상큼함이 살아난다. 입에서는 살구와 오렌지의 과실미 위로 크랜베리 주스 같은 새콤함과 또렷한 후추가 스친다. 55.2도의 힘이 가라앉으며 바닐라와 풍선껌 같은 달큰함이 중간 길이로 남는다.

starts rather rubbery and maybe a tad sulphury as well (cooked cabbage), grassy, austere and very un-Tomatin, that is to say with very little fruitiness. Stays there. Quick, water… With water: improves a bit, becoming much fresher, with more oranges and even mangos but there’s also a little soap (even after the mandatory ten minutes). Just a little
restaurant Palate
starts well, on apricots and oranges but there’s also this rubber again in the background, together with a slightly weird fruitiness. Some kind of strange squash? Litres of cranberry juice – not that I don’t like that but… Quite some pepper as well. With water: indeed, cranberry juice and vanilla
