노즈에서는 헤이즐번 특유의 밀랍과 꿀 같은 왁시함이 가장 먼저 두드러지며 오래된 소테른 와인을 떠올리게 하는 미드와 젖은 흙내음이 뒤따른다. 퍼스트필 버번 배럴 15년 숙성이 깊은 흙 향과 장뇌, 오래된 가구 광택 같은 복합미를 더한다. 팰럿은 51.6도로 예상 밖으로 투박하고 멘톨 같은 허브의 건조함이 뿌리와 흙의 뉘앙스로 발전한다. 스프링뱅크 계열 3회 증류 몰트다운 개성이 뚜렷하다. 피니시는 중간 길이로 흙내음과 오래된 샤르도네를 닮은 산미가 이어진다.

goes towards beeswax and in that respect, reminds you of many an old 'Local Barley' or 'West Highland Malt', or 21/25 by 'Archibald Mitchell'. Exceptional meady earthiness and old 1st-cru Sauternes. unexpectedly rustic, mentholy, dry, herbal… Not exactly what I've been expecting. Maybe the cask. With water: roots and earths. Really good, but it is as if it wasn't the same whisky on the nose. Beers and meads
