연한 화이트와인빛이 잔에 맑게 감도는 킬호만 2006은 버번 캐스크에서 12년을 보낸 아일라의 젊은 증류소 몰트다. 향에서는 허브로 그을린 듯한 풍성한 피트 위로 마른 건초와 들판의 흙내음이 은은하게 오른다. 입에서는 리큐어처럼 달콤한 피트에 브리오슈 반죽과 오렌지 케이크, 버터스카치가 어우러진다. 48.2도의 몸을 지나 꿀처럼 달큰하고 후추 어린 굴의 여운이 길게 이어진다.

let's be honest, the STR remains discreet. Here is a lovely, rich peat, almost as if the barley had been partially smoked with herbs. Or at least with very young peat. There are notes of patchouli, potpourri, hints of tomato leaves (that could be the STR) and hay. It really feels like the countryside

this sweet, almost liqueur-like quality is quite typical. Peat liqueur, now that's an amusing concept. There's brioche dough, a freshly baked orange cake, butterscotch, fresh coriander and sorrel, and always that sweet peat sometimes found in Lagavulin
