아일라 서안 록사이드 농장에서 보리를 직접 기르는 킬호만은 섬의 풍토를 가장 가까이 담는다. 리필 버번 배럴에서 18년을 보낸 이 컬렉션 보틀링은 잔에서 옅은 황금빛을 낸다. 해풍을 머금은 피트 연기 위로 레몬과 바닐라, 바다 소금 향이 산뜻하게 열린다. 48.1도의 도수에서 시트러스와 그을음, 보리 단맛이 입안을 깔끔하게 감싼다. 여운은 옅은 연기와 바닷바람의 짠맛으로 길게 남는다.

let's be honest, the STR remains discreet. Here is a lovely, rich peat, almost as if the barley had been partially smoked with herbs. Or at least with very young peat. There are notes of patchouli, potpourri, hints of tomato leaves (that could be the STR) and hay. It really feels like the countryside

this sweet, almost liqueur-like quality is quite typical. Peat liqueur, now that's an amusing concept. There's brioche dough, a freshly baked orange cake, butterscotch, fresh coriander and sorrel, and always that sweet peat sometimes found in Lagavulin
