스페이 강과 피들리치 강이 만나는 크레이겔라키 마을, 그 고장의 물이 이 위스키의 투박한 개성을 빚어낸다. 잔에는 밝은 밀짚빛이 어린다. 13년을 지낸 2000 빈티지는 사과와 건포도, 바닐라 향에 흙내음과 옅은 유황의 개성이 겹쳐 올라온다. 46도의 도수는 입안에서 몰트와 은은한 훈연, 씁쓸한 가장자리를 산뜻하게 펼친다. 매끄럽게 다듬어지지 않은 거친 결이 오히려 크레이겔라키다운 매력을 드러낸다. 베리 브라더스가 병입한 이 보틀링은 자몽 껍질의 씁쓸한 여운을 길게 이어간다.

it is a milder, rounder and sweeter version of the 2003, but the background is similar. Wee touches of mezcal again, a little earth, a little sulphur (spirit sulphur) that borders almondiness (what?), plenty of apples and then a few raisins and a touch of vanilla. It’s got a style, and that’s just great, even if it does nose a little young, almost as much so as the DL
restaurant Palate
a few burnt notes in the attack, notes of distillation, cooked sugar and herbs… But it gets then cleaner, maltier and slightly smoky, with a bitterish edge. May lack a part of the DL’s vibrancy (as the pros say.)
