잔을 천천히 돌리면 구릿빛 호박색이 유리벽을 타고 느리게 흘러내린다. 코를 가져가면 헨리 맥케나 10년 특유의 구운 옥수수와 바닐라, 캐러멜 향이 먼저 다가온다. 한 모금 머금으면 50도 병입답게 진한 오크 타닌과 흑설탕 단맛이 혀 중앙을 밀고 올라오고 계피 조각 같은 매운 기운이 뒤따른다. 삼키고 나면 켄터키 버번의 마른 오크와 담뱃잎 향이 목 안쪽에 오래 남는다.
