엷은 금빛이 잔 속에 맑게 비친다. 1996년 원액을 버번 호그스헤드에서 열여덟 해 익힌 벤리네스는 민들레 같은 노란 꽃과 부드러운 꿀, 구운 오크와 볶은 견과의 향이 정갈하게 어우러진다. 46도의 한 모금은 잘 익은 사과와 퍼지, 버터스카치의 단맛이 부드럽게 번지고, 맥아와 홍차, 옅은 셰리의 뉘앙스가 그 뒤를 받친다. 스페이사이드의 전형적인 꽃향이 깔끔하게 마무리되며, 살짝 구운 여운이 짧게 남는다.

classic floral Speysider at first nosing, rather on yellow ones (dandelion style), with also a good deal of soft honey and touches of sherry and toasted oak plus roasted nuts. Also hints of overripe apples and a little wood smoke. Classically aromatic, I’d say

sweet and fruity, more on ripe apples this time, a little fudge, butterscotch, malt, honey, a little sherry again, some tea… Did I tell you how classic this was? Also a little corn syrup
