잔을 빙글 돌리면 1972년 빈티지 글렌드로낙을 올로로소 셰리 버트에서 37년 보낸 싱글 캐스크 배치 1의 짙은 마호가니빛이 잔벽을 타고 흐른다. 코끝에 가져가면 37년 셰리 숙성다운 묵은 건포도와 무화과 잼, 그리고 시가 박스의 흙내가 가장 먼저 인사한다. 한 모금을 머금으면 54.8도가 묵직하게 입천장을 덮으며 다크 초콜릿과 가죽이 굴러간다. 삼키고 나면 70년대 글렌드로낙답게 깊은 단맛과 절제된 우드 스파이스가 길게 이어진다.

rich, sweet, punchy, malty, citrusy. I did not care too much for the nose (a little simple, perhaps), but I have to say this arrival is great. Hot chocolate, malt bars, Guinness, dried figs, raisins, and perhaps the tiniest ‘pinhead’ of Marmite. This is a product from the UK, isn’t it? With water: swims very well. Touch of oak, chocolate, marmalade, ginger, all-spice…
