Tasting Notes
불그스름한 구릿빛이 잔에 감돈다. 피트를 쓰는 하이랜드 아드모어 2008년은 첫 필 루비 포트 와인 캐스크에서 마무리되며 훈연과 붉은 과일이 만나는 개성을 얻었다. 솔방울을 태운 연기와 숯, 모닥불 같은 향에 포트가 남긴 붉은 단맛이 겹치고, 입에서는 빵 같은 훈연과 감초, 세비야 오렌지와 설탕에 절인 안젤리카가 59.2도의 힘을 타고 퍼진다. 여운은 은은한 꿀이 훈연 사이로 밝게 길게 남는다.

it’s one of these bourbon casks that give out hints of dry leafy sherry, but that way as well be the peat, since this is seriously smoky. I’m thinking pine cone smoke, charcoal, or garden bonfire… Some parts remind me of Tomintoul’s Ballantruan. With water: more traditional, more ‘kilny’. Could you smoke apples?

it’s funny how it feels ‘American craft’, with a very bready smokiness, liquorice, more saps and resins, and then Seville oranges and candied angelica. I’d have never said refill barrel, this feels like first fill or even virgin oak. With water: same comments. A gingery smoke

long, sweet and pungent at the same time, with some very lovely notes of honey coming out. Ever tried agapanthus honey?
