Tasting Notes
잔을 감싸 쥐고 흔들면 분홍빛이 감도는 앰버가 잔 벽을 타고 흐른다. 코끝에 가져가면 딸기와 초록빛 피트, 정원의 모닥불, 훈연한 차의 향이 겹쳐 오른다. 토니 포트로 마무리한 피티드 벤리악 15년, 50도의 이 솔스티스를 한 모금 머금으면 훈연한 딸기잼의 달콤함이 강렬하게 입을 채운다. 삼키면 포트가 남긴 붉은 과일과 피트 연기가 깔끔하게 어우러지며 길게 이어진다.

right, it’s a style. It’s not to my liking but this time it’s not repulsive, not at all, and we’re rather in the style of Edradour’s Ballechins. Probably from inactive casks before the finishing process. Notes of strawberries, ‘green’ peat, garden bonfire and quite a lot of smoked tea. Cherry stem tea. With water: becomes very farmy, ala Ballechin indeed

smoky strawberry jam! It’s a narrow and simple profile but it’s very spectacular and technically perfect (as far as I can tell). With water: more of all that. Smoked strawberries, Jell-O, peated jelly beans?
