잔을 든 채 숨을 고르고 향을 맡으면 메이플과 볶은 피칸이 앞에 선다. 뒤로는 가죽과 흑빵이 깔린다. 한 모금 머금으면 기름진 질감이 혀를 두껍게 감싼다. 삼키면 후추와 오크 떫음이 오래 이어진다. 다시 향을 맡으면 흑설탕과 계피가 되돌아오고 잔을 오래 두어도 향이 얇아지지 않는다. 헨리 맥케나 10년은 향보다 입에서 더 넓어진다.
