Tasting Notes
옅은 황금빛이 잔 안에서 묵직하게 빛난다. 호그스헤드에서 23년을 보낸 벤네비스답게, 코끝에는 밀랍과 잘 익은 과일, 옅은 가죽의 독특한 향이 복합적으로 피어오른다. 개성 강한 하이랜드 증류소답게 입안에서는 꿀과 열대 과일, 은은한 흙내음이 두꺼운 질감으로 번진다. 54.7도의 질감은 기름지고 둥글게 입을 채운다. 이 보틀링의 여운은 밀랍과 마른 과일, 옅은 향신료가 맞물려 깊게 머문다. 벤네비스 특유의 야성적인 매력이 잔에 또렷하다.

here in this 1998 we find that slightly rounder, more civilised Ben Nevis character than in the 1996s, even more floral, with bursts of rose petals and oriental pastries. Even viognier! But it’s really lovely… With water: we drift back a little toward leather and mustard
restaurant Palate
absolutely excellent, positioned squarely between west coast and east coast styles (somewhere west of Tomintoul, where there’s virtually nothing at all), on wax, palo cortado, walnut wine and brine. With water: leather, tobacco, pepper, salted lemon juice, tequila, juniper, beer bitters…
