Tasting Notes
향을 맡으면 잘 익은 과일과 꿀, 오래된 오크의 향이 앞서 다가오는 하이랜드 몰트다. 제임스 맥아더가 병입한 벤 네비스 1963년 빈티지로, 27년의 긴 숙성이 만든 깊은 향이 또렷하게 나타난다. 팰럿은 말린 과일과 토피, 가죽과 은은한 향신료가 진한 질감으로 흐르며 54도의 도수가 오랜 숙성에도 향미를 단단하게 받쳐 준다. 27년 숙성이 빚은 깊이와 구조감이 또렷하고 단맛과 오크의 균형이 단단하다. 끝맛에서는 말린 과일과 가죽, 은은한 향신료의 여운이 길고 또렷이 남는다.
AITasting Notes
air Nose
full gold more expressive than the Dumbarton but still a bit shy. More on apple juice and sandalwood, maybe hints of incense and also a little wet moss. But again, that’s all. Nicer than the Dumbarton, though
restaurant Palate
oh well, it’s much better than the Dumbarton but still not quite pleasant, with its notes of rotting oranges and stale bread. It does improve, though, with interesting hints of rose jelly, cider apples and Turkish delights. A little ginger tonic as well. Also a pleasant oakiness and a rather long finish that makes me think of middle-shelf calvados. A nice old grain whisky (again!)
