1996년 증류액이 리필 버트에서 10년을 지낸 시간이 벤 네비스 특유의 걸쭉한 개성을 감싼다. 바나나 껍질과 여러 식물성 기름, 무르익은 사과에 바닷물과 밀랍, 옅은 가죽과 담배가 어지럽게 얽혀 향을 세운다. 46도 아래로 훨씬 단단하고 정확하며 짭짤한 라인이 혀를 곧게 가른다. 이 위스키는 짠맛과 향신료, 고급스러운 쓴맛이 어우러진 우아한 여운을 아주 길게 남긴다.
