Tasting Notes
깊은 호박빛이 잔 속에서 묵직하게 빛난다. 스페이사이드에서 육중한 증류로 이름난 모틀락을 21년 길러낸 이 레어 올드 보틀링은 진한 셰리 숙성의 풍미를 담는다. 코에는 말린 과일과 가죽, 고기 육수를 떠올리게 하는 묵직한 향이 어우러지고 입에서는 흑설탕과 호두, 정향의 풍미가 두꺼운 질감으로 흐른다. 40도의 단정한 도수에도 여운은 진하고 길며 묵은 오크의 쌉쌀함이 깊게 머문다.

unusual, to say the least. Starts with plenty of olive oil, goes then towards old books, or cardboard, and lastly, a lot of ‘artificial’ orange juice, ala Fanta. Not much Mortlachness to be had this time, but let’s dig deeper…

no, this is Mortlach. A tad acrid, with some lemon, grapefruits, then quite some sawdust and white pepper, this mineral side, and a small touch of, say salted candle wax. I know. I find this good, and pleasantly ‘old school’. The low strength is a problem, though
