잔을 흔들어 향을 깨우면 육중한 증류로 이름난 모틀락답게 묵직한 몰트와 옅은 고기 향이 먼저 올라온다. 코를 가까이 대면 버번 배럴이 남긴 바닐라와 잘 익은 사과, 견과가 번갈아 스친다. 46도의 이 2008년 8년산을 한 모금 머금으면 든든한 보리 단맛과 옅은 향신료가 매끄럽게 흐른다. 넘긴 자리에는 몰트와 오크가 혀끝에 남아 천천히 사그라든다.
