air Nose
these vintages are another story on another planet. It’s all much more ‘tertiary’, with some engine oil, leather, old orange liqueur, metal polish, old coal stove, diesel oil… I guess you get my drift. Fantastic whisky, a true classic. There’s also a little vase water, with the good side of vase water, so to speak. A kind of smoky grassiness. Ah well, it’s not easy to describe
restaurant Palate
absolutely fabulous. Everything’s perfect, the citrus fruits, all the waxy ‘things’, the metallic/mineral side, the mouth feel is perfect, balance is achieved, the sharp spices are roaring in the background. Well, you might consider calling the anti-maltoporn brigade, if that’s not too much to ask…
timer Finish
again, it’s perfect. Bitter orange liqueur, wax and some kind of light cough syrup. More liquorice and peat smoke in the aftertaste
