노즈에서 가장 또렷한 신호는 흑설탕과 옥수수이고 뒤이어 육두구와 마른 체리가 층을 만든다. 향의 무게가 초반부터 분명하게 실려 있고 쉽게 흩어지지 않는다. 팰럿에서는 캐러멜과 계피가 진하게 깔리고 중반부터 호밀의 매운 기운이 개입한다. 여운은 탄닌과 볶은 곡물로 정리된다. 헨리 맥케나는 보틀드 인 본드 표기대로 밀도와 정직함을 함께 갖췄다.
