북부 하이랜드 브로라 해안의 클라이넬리시는 왁스 같은 질감으로 애호가의 사랑을 받는 증류소다. 잔에는 맑은 금빛이 흐른다. 1997년 원액이 셰리 호그스헤드에서 열일곱 해를 지나며 밀랍을 입힌 시트론과 사과 껍질, 점토 같은 미네랄의 향이 열린다. 한 모금에는 왁스와 레몬, 점토, 아몬드 크림의 결이 52.9도의 무게로 배어난다. 혀 가운데에서 왁스의 유질감과 소금기가 균형을 잡으며 클라이넬리시 특유의 개성이 뚜렷하다. 여운은 소금 친 아몬드와 왁스로 길게 이어진다.

this one is a little fatter indeed, a tad smokier as well, and certainly quite waxy. This feeling of waxed citrons that’s so stunningly lovely in my book. And apple peelings, zests, clay… With water: damp clay and chalk all over the place. Plus ink, a touch of humus and of course quite some wax. Linseed oil
