Tasting Notes
잔을 코끝에 가져가면 클라이넬리시 특유의 왁스 같은 질감과 풀 연기, 옅은 기계유와 녹슨 쇠붙이 같은 미네랄이 얽혀 올라온다. 오렌지 껍질과 잘 익은 귤의 상큼함이 사이를 파고든다. 한 모금 머금으면 55.3도의 힘이 시가와 쓴 오렌지, 소금 친 럼과 하얀 후추의 풍미를 혀 위에 강렬하게 펼쳐낸다. 물을 더하면 훈연이 한층 커진다. 1993년 증류된 이 하이랜드 몰트는 삼킨 뒤에도 왁스와 시트러스의 여운이 길게 감돈다.

yeah, there, some Brora character, with some grass smoke, mustard, ointments, plaster, tar, old tools, engine oil, rusty old tins, earth, even touches of manure, whiffs of burning lamp oil, then orange peel, tangerines starting to rot or to become ‘very overripe’… The magic happens again! With water: amazing waxy/mineral/citrusy/earthy development. Everything’s in place, just like in the John Coltrane Quartet (say A love supreme)

the kind of whisky that you want to marry. Amazing, almost slamming combination of cigars, bitter oranges, salted rum, chalk, white pepper, quinces, old herbal liqueurs (long forgotten recipes), toothpaste for gourmets (what?)… With water: exceptional. The smoky side grew much bigger
