ah, it’s one of these typically clean and fragrant 1972 Clynelishes. Great freshness, starting on whiffs of sea air, beeswax and lots of flowery notes. Nectar, pollen, hints of hay, tropical fruits (but not too much). Beautifully honeyed. Another classic, it appears
restaurant Palate
yes, very typical again: lots of beeswax and tropical fruits, crystallised quince, orange marmalade, mirabelle plums… Excellent! Some paraffin as usual… A great profile, most enjoyable just like that despite the rather high abv. The finish is very long, on all sorts of dried fruits and a dash of cinnamon powder. It gets nicely salty with a few drops of water. In short, another truly excellent 1971-1972 Clynelish, very classy stuff, immensely quaffable. 92 points .
