잔을 흔들면 짙은 황금빛이 잔 안에서 윤기 있게 돈다. 코끝에 가져가면 아란다운 셰리 버트의 건포도와 잘 익은 자두, 옅은 오크 향이 또렷이 올라온다. 1996년 증류해 19년을 보낸 아란 섬의 이 위스키를 한 모금 머금으면 셰리의 마른 과일과 꿀, 시나몬 같은 스파이스가 53도의 힘으로 혀 위에서 번진다. 삼키면 졸인 과일과 견과의 잔향이 입안에 묵직하게 남는다.

there’s a mentholy, herbal side right away, then many stewed and dried fruits. Raisins, naturally, strong honey, mead, a touch of damp cardboard… With water: muesli and that silver spoon you’re using to eat that muesli. There has been some ‘tertiary agent’, just like in the DL, although it’s not that pronounced here
