애런 증류소가 가동을 시작한 지 얼마 되지 않은 초창기 1996년 원액이 셰리 호그스헤드에서 이십 년을 보낸 결과가 잔에 깊은 적호박빛으로 머금어진다. 향에서 말린 체리와 호두 알맹이, 흑설탕 시럽이 솟아오른다. 입에서는 오십 점 팔 도의 알코올이 무화과 잼과 다크 초콜릿 그리고 옅은 가죽으로 풀려간다. 클라이드강 어귀 섬의 풋풋한 곡물 단맛이 여운에 길게 이어진다.
