적갈색이 또렷한 짙은 호박이 잔에 안정적으로 자리한다. 아란 1996 빈티지 17년은 셰리 버트에서 길어 올린 프라이빗 캐스크 보틀링이며, 향에서는 농밀한 건무화과와 호두, 가죽, 옅은 가구 폴리시가 차례로 떠오른다. 54.1도의 도수는 입안에서 어린 증류소답지 않은 두꺼운 보디감 위로 다크 초콜릿과 잘 익은 자두, 시나몬의 결을 묵직하게 풀어놓으며 아일랜즈의 새로운 야망을 드러낸다. 끝은 견과류의 떫은맛이 오래 머문다.

less complex than the oldies but not less appealing with its rich, silky profile all on very ripe plums, old roses and high-end oak. Also crystallised oranges and a very pleasant smokiness (wood). Very nice, very classic
