잔을 코끝에 가져가면 글렌리벳 13년이 퍼스트필 셰리 버트에서 얻은 짙은 적갈색을 드러낸다. 향을 들이마시면 잘 익은 검은 베리와 흑설탕, 오래된 가죽 향이 진하게 올라온다. 한 모금 머금으면 무려 65도의 강렬한 기운이 혀를 감싸며 건포도와 다크초콜릿, 정향이 폭발하듯 번진다. 물을 한 방울 더하면 단맛이 살아난다. 삼키면 셰리의 깊은 단맛과 알싸한 향신료가 길고 뜨겁게 따라온다.
