잔을 천천히 흔들며 향이 열릴 시간을 준다. 처음에는 바닐라 커스터드가 주도하고 곧 마른 오크와 육두구가 뒤따라 나온다. 한 모금을 머금어 혀 전체에 펴 바르면 흑설탕과 구운 옥수수가 두꺼운 층으로 쌓인다. 넘긴 뒤에는 후추와 가죽이 목을 따라 내려가며 1999년에 증류된 이 위스키의 나이를 어렵지 않게 느끼게 한다. 빈 잔에도 오크의 흔적이 남는다.
