잔을 채우고 코를 가져가면 곡물의 달큰함이 가장 먼저 인사한다. 돌린 뒤 다시 맡으면 캐러멜과 그을린 나무가 뚜렷하게 층을 이룬다. 한 모금 머금으면 50도의 술이 혀를 곧게 누르며 메이플 같은 단맛을 밀어 올린다. 넘기고 나면 후추와 다크 초콜릿이 오래 걸려 천천히 식는다. 물 몇 방울에 향이 넓어지며 단맛이 앞선다. 헨리 맥케나 보틀드 인 본드가 오래 사랑받은 이유가 여기에 있다.
