리벳 강이 흐르는 스페이사이드 골짜기에서 비롯된 글렌리벳 원액은 45년이라는 긴 세월을 셰리 호그스헤드에서 견뎌냈다. 1973년 빈티지의 이 카데헤드 보틀링은 잔에 깊은 마호가니빛을 머금는다. 향에서는 오래된 가죽과 말린 대추, 흙내 도는 향신료가 천천히 피어나고, 입에서는 43.1도의 원숙한 술이 호두와 묵은 꿀로 부드럽게 번진다. 여운은 가죽과 쌉싸름한 오크를 길게 남긴다.

densely concentrated dried and crystallised fruits with earthy, aged dark teas, fruit loaf, aged mead, some rather luscious old Cognacs, leafy tobaccos and beautifully elegant dark chocolate. Superb and rather amazingly fresh. Wee hints of hessian, earth, rancio, porcini mushroom and old leather. Typically exquisite old whisky on the nose. it is indeed tannic but in the sense of complex, beautifully earthy aged Pu Erh tea, bitter chocolate, game meats and then spicy rye bread. Wonderful balance and the fruits are still vivid and rich. Some herbal bitters, toffee apple, old madeira and hints of orange wine
