잔을 흔들고 코를 대기까지 잠시 기다리면 알코올이 눈에 띄게 가라앉는다. 그 뒤 향에서는 캐러멜과 구운 옥수수가 중심을 잡고 체리가 살짝 스친다. 한 모금을 머금으면 흑설탕이 입천장을 천천히 덮고 육두구가 뒤를 받친다. 넘긴 다음에는 오크와 코코아가 길게 이어진다. 두 번째 모금에서는 향신료가 조금 더 앞선다. 보틀드 인 본드 표기가 헛돌지 않는 정직한 켄터키 버번이다.
