잔을 가까이 하면 1974년 증류된 옛 아드벡의 잔잔한 피트 연기와 젖은 흙, 감귤 껍질 향이 명확하게 드러난다. 40도로 병입된 만큼 입에서는 공격성이 거의 없이 부드러운 훈연과 레몬, 가벼운 소금기가 서서히 발전한다. 13년 숙성의 비교적 어린 원액이지만 옛 아드벡 특유의 기름진 질감과 미네랄이 또렷하게 살아 있다. 도수가 낮아 자극은 적지만 그만큼 향미의 결을 천천히 따라가기 좋다. 피니시는 잔잔한 재와 시트러스가 길게 이어지는, 빈티지 아일라의 절제된 매력을 보여준다.
