잔을 코앞에서 흔들면 1974년 증류된 아드벡이 옅은 황금빛을 잔 벽에 흘린다. 향을 들이마시면 오래된 아일라 남부다운 짙은 타르와 잿빛 피트, 약초와 굵은 소금기가 강렬하게 솟구친다. 한 모금을 머금으면 63도의 거센 힘이 혀를 덮고 훈제한 과일과 감초, 기름진 연기가 번진다. 삼킨 뒤에는 묵직한 피트의 재가 목 안쪽에서 오래 타오른다.
