Tasting Notes
옅은 화이트 와인빛이 잔 속에 맑게 담겨 있다. 아일라 아드벡을 카데나스가 1991년 원액으로 버번 호그스헤드에 담아 스물한 해 재운 이 위스키는 바다 위를 떠도는 그을음 같은 향으로 시작한다. 용담 뿌리와 레몬그라스, 켈프가 정교하게 얽힌다. 44.7도의 도수 위로 입안에는 재와 마른 코코넛, 소금기와 훈제 생선이 결을 이룬다. 여운은 용담과 레몬, 타르와 랍상소총 같은 재의 기운이 길게 남는다.

I mean, the home of older tasters such as yours truly, with this unstoppable sootiness floating over the sea at first sniffs, and then a very complex yet perfectly chiselled combination of gentian roots, verbena, lemongrass and pitch. You may add a little grapefruit, dill, kelp and hessian. In truth, it’s no big Ardbeg and the peat remains delicate and even sometimes ‘suggested’, but it’s wonderfully crystalline

it’s even sootier and it’s very ashy, while some pretty unusual notes of dried coconut are flying around. A little butter and vanilla too. It’s only after a few seconds that some pure Ardbegness starts to strike, with some brine, kippers, grapefruits and just anything smoked.
