스페이사이드 엘긴의 링크우드는 로시 강가의 온화한 풍토 속에서 꽃 같고 섬세한 몰트로 이름났다. 퍼스트필 올로로소 호그스헤드에서 3년 반을 마무리한 10년산은 짙은 호박빛을 띤다. 향에서는 장미 같은 꽃향과 건포도, 셰리의 단내가 또렷하게 올라오고 옅은 가죽이 더해진다. 57.3도의 입안에서는 잘 익은 자두와 호두, 마른 향신료가 풀바디로 흐른다. 중간에는 흑설탕과 오렌지 껍질의 단맛이 두꺼운 질감으로 퍼진다. 꽃향과 셰리 단맛이 어우러진 여운이 길고 우아하게 남는다.

of course this works. Banana bread, croissants, raisin rolls, vanilla fudge, shortbread… With water: some paraffin, some engine oil, some brake fluid… I was not expecting this. Now the cakes are soon to strike back, with more croissants. A we or are we not French?
