스페이사이드 엘긴의 링크우드 1989는 꽃향으로 이름난 증류소가 셰리 캐스크에서 21년을 보낸 위스키다. 잔에는 짙은 호박빛이 감돈다. 셰리 위로 말린 과일과 장미, 꿀의 향이 우아하게 피어오른다. 61.7도의 강렬한 힘으로, 입에서는 건포도와 흑설탕, 흰 꽃의 향이 단단하게 입을 채운다. 물을 더하면 꿀과 견과가 살아난다. 여운은 꽃향과 셰리의 단맛으로 길게 이어진다.

a classy sherry, not overpowering, with a lot of chocolate, prunes and leather and just a little yeastiness (bread). Also some Barbour grease (have to find a more generic descriptor one day) and roasted pecans. With water: it’s as if some peat came out, but it cannot be peat. Hay and more Barbour grease (I know, I know)
restaurant Palate
creamy, sweet and very rich, all on Christmas cake (how fitting) and violet liqueur (some Parfait Amours). Then more walnut liqueur, chocolate and a faint tarriness. With water: more jams (apricots and plums) and more soft spices. Chinese anise, cinnamon, cloves…
timer Finish
long, with added touches of tobacco and a little cough syrup in the aftertaste
