Tasting Notes
벤리니스 자락의 가족 경영 증류소 글렌파클라스는 직화 증류와 셰리 숙성으로 진한 풍미를 이어 온다. 1968년을 증류한 잔에는 깊은 마호가니빛이 감돈다. 향은 말린 무화과와 흑설탕, 묵은 가죽이 또렷이 어우러진다. 37년을 보낸 51.4도의 입안은 건포도와 다크 초콜릿, 호두의 단맛이 진하게 차오른다. 여운에는 카카오와 오래 묵은 향신료가 깊게 머문다.

air Nose
toffee and dried fruits galore at first nosing, pretty much what one would expect from an old Glenfarclas. Dried figs and dates, Xmas cake, huge notes of pipe tobacco and liquorice, even a little wood smoke (maybe pine cone), the whole developing more towards a little rancio and big notes of walnuts, apple peelings and dry sherry, getting finally superbly dry and leathery. A classic!
restaurant Palate
the relatively low strength is no problem here, it’s rather big and powerful whisky. Starts very caramelised and rather coffeeish (sugared expresso), very malty as well, nutty, with the more and more notes of toasts, roasted nuts and fudge, getting finally drier once again. Also a little pepper and cloves. Amazingly lively and even vibrant at such old age, but a tad less complex than on the nose

long, malty, very roasted. Kalhua
