오래된 금빛이 잔 안에서 고요하게 빛난다. 1956년에 증류되어 59년을 견딘 글렌파클라스는 흔히 아는 셰리 향과 달리, 성냥과 가죽, 마른 풀과 익힌 아티초크의 낯설고 묵은 향을 조심스레 풀어놓는다. 43.5도의 부드러운 질감은 입 안에서 호두파이의 고소함과 송로버섯, 화약 같은 미네랄의 결을 은은하게 겹친다. 여운은 길지 않으나 풀내음과 가죽의 결을 남기며, 반세기를 넘긴 원액의 기묘한 깊이를 조용히 드러낸다.

rather more used matches than in my ‘usual’ Glenfarclas, more leather, more plasticine, more grass, hints of cooked artichoke and cabbage, gas… Frankly, I find it very strange. You’d rather think it’s Benrinnes, or perhaps Dailuaine
