따라둔 잔을 잠시 두었다가 흔들면 진한 황갈색이 유리 안쪽에 느린 자국을 남긴다. 코를 넣으면 버터스카치와 구운 옥수수빵 향이 올라오고 그 아래로 체리와 정향이 은은하게 깔린다. 한 모금을 혀 위에서 굴리면 50도의 알코올이 혀끝을 조이다가 메이플 시럽 같은 단맛으로 풀린다. 넘긴 뒤에는 다크 초콜릿과 가죽이 남아 입안 온도를 천천히 올리며 헨리 맥케나 특유의 단단한 끝맛을 만든다.
