셰리 캐스크에서 28년을 보낸 시간이 1973년 빈티지 하이랜드 파크의 두꺼운 캐릭터로 또렷이 드러난다. 2001년 병입된 이 빈티지는 오크니 섬 증류소의 가장 고전적인 시기를 담고 있다. 노즈에는 잘 익은 무화과와 헤더 꿀, 옅은 피트 연기가 겹친다. 입에서는 건포도와 다크 초콜릿, 향신료가 45.4퍼센트에 실려 매끄럽게 흐른다. 어두운 호박빛이 잔에 비치고 오크니 셰리의 풍미가 여운에 깊게 머문다.

less fruity than the 1991, grassier, with also more milky tones and whiffs of freshly sawn oak but little vanilla. Very ‘natural’ malt whisky, maybe also a bit ‘neutral’. Hints of ginger tonic, green tannins, faint sourness

punchy, good attack, fruitier now, also a little caramelised. Vanilla fudge, apple peeling, malt, a little coffee and just wee hints of strawberry sweets
timer Finish
just like the 1991, it becomes drier and more marked by the oak
